Lightbulb Casino Drive

What do A.P. Indy, Deputy Minister, Seattle Slew, Mr. Prospector, Secretariat, and Northern Dancer all have in common? All of their blood is shared in the veins of Casino Drive. I suppose if blood lines alone guranteed winning races this horse would have won or will win the Santa Anita Derby, The Triple Crown, The Travers, The Breeder's Cup and that huge race in Dubai by an average of 20 links. But I guess this is why they run the race. For a horse that has only ran twice he gives us a hell of a lot to be pumped up about for the Belmont. All of those horses involved in his breeding that I mentioned are only the ones I know of and I wasn't born until 1980. The only horse from Big Brown's breeding I know of is War Admiral (because he challenged Seasbiscuit in the movie). In the 2 races Casino Drive has run he seems similiar to Big Brown in that he shows he has that extra gear he can click on and off any time he wants it (Desormeaux practically made it a point in the Preakness to show he has this ability). If we threw out PP's while handicapping a race, Casino Drive would be picked to dominate. Aside from his back breeding making him an immediate "Super Horse", he was purchased for $760,000 more than Big Brown almost 5 months later. Not to mention his half brother and half sister have both won the Belmont (Jazil and Rags to Riches). My interest in this horse is piqued only because we may actually get a decent price on a horse that is capable of beating this giant. However, this is only in the interest of making money. As I said I was born in 1980 and in the 10 years i've been consumed with horse racing i've always wanted to see a Triple Crown Winner, only to have them dangled in front of my face and snatched away. I think i'm going to stay away from betting this race and watch it strictly as a fan...yeah right. Who can do that? At the very least i'll spend $40 and play only exactas and trifectas but I struggle to bet a race without actually betting a winner. I'm just glad we've got 3 weeks to pick one. I'd like to know why or why not anyone thinks this horse has a chance and what price you think both he and Big Brown will go off at. Thanks in advance.

Did the connections ever mention why they are just running him in the Belmont and not the other triple crown races?

From what I understand there is a lot of money to be made in Japan where the horses owners are from. I've been researching him since Sunday and they never set their sights on the Kentucky Derby. He broke his maiden in Japan and then came over for the Peter Pan, after which they briefly considered the Preakness but, the Peter Pan has always been a stepping stone for the Belmont. I also read something about him being "quarantined" to Japan for 3 months but haven't been able to find out why, or even if the word means the same to us as it does them.

if you liked Big Brown in the derby and preakness against those two fields. There is no way to not like Casino Drive. For some reason people are thinking that Big Brown isso special, and he might be. This is the Belmont its like nothing these horses have ever experienced before. Thats why the triple crown is so hard. Pimlico is such a narrow track and then you have to go to Belmont, which is huge. Its better for a horse to have a start there then to come from Pimlico.

Casino Drive - WIN
