EVG Longshots

I see two that I like tonight: 20.00 across for each

Race 4 #5 My Girl Melissa 8-1
Race 7 #12 Lea's Flame 12-1

Have a nice evening.

That title is supposed to be EVD (Evangeline Downs)

Thumbs up

Cheezer, I would like to bet on those 2 races. I suppose that it is to WIN.

Also when you say WPS, I suppose that it meens win, place, show but is that a trifecta?

Spicyfalcon, WPS means win, place, show as does across(as in across the board). It is basically three separate bets on the horse listed. In this case, in the 4th race, I am risking 20 each for win, place, and show(60.00 total for each race). I get paid if the horse finishes in the top three. If it wins, I get all three prices. If it comes in 2nd, I get the place and show money and if it comes in 3rd(shows), I only get that price. A trifecta is picking the top three horses to finish 1-2-3. Hope that clears things up for you. Any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks for the answer, now I understand. So my bet that I placed was only to win, I din't take place and show.

Just so you know, I play longshots across the board because, a lot of times, you can make money on place and show prices. Just remember, these are morning line longshots, so play accordingly. The horse in the 4th is getting bet down, though.

We have a winner in the 4th; 9.00 5.80 4.00. She only got bet down one place from the morning line. I'll take it. Guarenteed plus money for the night!

You get paid only off the final line, not the morning line. If bettors did not like that horse, it could have gone off at 15-1 and you would have made 7.50. I didn't know books let you bet 1.00 to win. Usually you have to make those bets in increments of two. Anyway, glad you cashed with me.

At home you can tune into TVG or The Horse Racing Network. At least that's the case in Ohio. You can also go to a track and watch it on simulcast.
