Keeneland plays and analysis...Sunday 4/10
Race 1 #8 Joann's Joy 3-1...2nd race back off the layoff and drops in class. Also has Sarvis aboard who is winning at a 27% clip so far this year.
Race 2 #5 Goods 8-5...seven 2 year old first time starters go at it in this Maiden Special Weight 4 1/2 furlong sprint. The 3 outside horses have 3 of the top trainers( Asmussen, Pletcher, Lukas) and jockeys(Bailey,J. Velazquez, Bejarano). I look for the Asmussen/Bailey connection to prevail. Race 3 #5 Cahill Holly 3-1...This is the 3rd race of her form cycle and the drop in class should make her a winner. Note that her 3rd time back last fall off a layoff she was also a winner against $40K claimers. Race 4 #7 C C Ryder 15-1...This horse didnt show much in his first start last fall at Belmont, but has a new trainer who wins at a 20% clip with his first try and shows some very promising workouts recently. I look for him to rebound with a good effort. Play this one across the board at a good price and make some money. Race 5 #10 Eyes on Eddy 5-2...cuts back to 7 furlongs after running 3 route stakes races, including a grade 2 and grade 3, where she finished 2nd and 5th. Should get a clean break from the outside post. Look for her to sit off the pace and finish strong for the win. Race 6 #4 Swing the Cat 4-1... Finished 1st last time out after a long layoff and was DQ and placed 3rd. Look for her to rebound with a similar effort and get the win here with Albarado aboard. Race 7 #10 Rainbow Rider 10-1... Finished a strong 2nd after a year and a half layoff. had a nice bullet workout at Churchill 9 days ago and should be ready for another strong effort 2nd time back. Another I like across the board at nice odds hopefully. Race 8 #4 Razor 1-1...Finished 2nd to Afleet Alex last month at Oaklawn with a 99 beyer figure. Looks like the top choice here. Race 9 #4 Icy Atlantic 3-1..This looks like a 2 horse race between Icy Atlantic and Swagger Stick. Swagger finished 7th his last time out in a grade 1 stakes at Gulfstream, but only lost by a length in a blanket finish among 7 horses. Icy Atlantic is trained by Todd Pletcher and thats always a plus. He takes the hood off today and tries to rebound from bad starts in his last 2 races. Swagger will probably be the post time favorite, but I will try to beat him here with the #4 horse. Full Keeneland card... race 1 8-2-4 race 2 5-6-7 race 3 5-6-1 race 4 7-11-4 race 5 10-9-7 race 6 4-7-11 race 7 10-5-12 race 8 4-3-1 race 9 4-3-6 $1 pick 4 starting in 2nd race....5,6/1,2,5,6/4,7,11/10 costing $24. $1 pick 4 starting in 4th race....4,7,11/9,10/1,4,7/5,10 costing $36 $1 pick 4 starting in 6th race...4,7,11/1,5,10,12/4/3,4 costing $24. good luck to all today at the races... |
