I heard on TVG yesterday, they were talking about a race where all the horses scratched except for 1, so he just ran around the track by himself to collect the purse money. Anyone hear about this and where it happened? I didnt catch where it was at...

I don't know where it was at... But, it should have been @ Monmouth today... 3 horses in a 65k STAKES... Should have just cancelled it.. Exacta paid 8.40... someone cashed...

That's pretty stupid because the top 5 finishers get paid. I wouldn't scratch my horse if it was racing against ONE other horse. Worse I can do is get purse money for finishing second.

The race was this past Friday the 15th. I can't remember the track or horse's name other than it was the 5 horse. I saw the "race" live and then again on replays. The owners were concerned about track conditions and one thought was they all had an agreement to pull the horses, which obviously they didn't. The "winner" did get the purse which I believe was $16,000+.

That's the easiest 16K that owner will ever make. Talk about double crossing bastards.
