Philly Monday 1/31 Spot Play

Race 4

7 Outrageously 5-2
4 Crafty Icepick 5-1
9 Blueberry Patch 10-1
5 Mister Goyo 10-1

OUTRAGEOUSLY was the chalk in his debut at Pimlico for 40k, he showed early speed to the half before giving way late over a track that typically yields slower half times in sprints, barn excels in maiden claimers and does score well with second time starters. CRAFTY ICEPICK showed a solid late move last out at 20-1 and may find himself trying to make a move late here. BLUEBERRY PATCH adds lasix and runs for the same trainer as #4, likely to press the pace early but likely will be a little short late, any pace that falls apart early will favor him if he does not fade. MISTER GOYO chased a fast pace last out at high odds and made a strong move for the place, any failure of the early speed will set this one up for a closing effort.

$3 WP 7
$1 Ex 7 with 4,5,9
$1 Ex 4,5,9 with 7

Good Luck!

Thanks Smooth. Hit the tri-box in the 8th. Had the back end Daily Double too, but for some reason it did not pay. Do you know why? I had hedged my bet by betting other horses to win, so that hurt.

gt,

Double ended up being 1.3-1 and 1.4-1 at post time... no real great odds there. I hate when that happens... you see a decent 4-1 shot or so and the SOB goes off at 7-5. Especially when I am playing from my work computer and can't watch the tote board.

Smooth,

I didn't realize, nor does my book, that philly does the 2nd daily double on 8&9 not 9&10. They have agreed to pay me back my hedge bets. We'll see if they do it.

GL the rest of the week.
