NTRA doesnt want Big Brown to Win

Everyone assumes that a triple crown winner would really help the sport. But oh how wrong you all are. Dutrow has really screwed the NTRA by yapping his mouth and the steroid situation. Many horses use steroids in these 3 states, but if Big Brown wins its going to be after a couple of weeks, well he won on steroids. This leads the NTRA to hold hearings to ban the use of steroids, hence causing a whole mess of shit. The NTRA will say a triple crown winner would be good for the sport, but they dont want Big Brown to win

I agree. This just doesn't have that same exciting feeling we felt when Street Sense was going for the 2nd leg of the crown nor, does it have that exciting feeling we all felt when Smarty Jones went for the crown. I don't know how "bad" this is for horse racing, but I agree if he does win those steroids will be a big issue. I've never seen a triple crown winner and really wanted to but, I always thought it would be much more exciting than this.

If those states permit the use of steroids, that should mean that any horse on steroids has a shot at winning.

Does taking a triple dosage of steroids make a horse run faster than a horse on one dose??

When legalizing steroid use, they should have thought "Could this come back to bite us?". If it is going to cause problems and they want to ban steroid use, make it clear and ban it beginning in '09, so we are not changing rules in the middle of a season, and then everyone is aware. Nothing worse than changing the rules as were playing the game.
