Phil Saltzman Retires

Veteran track announcer Phil Saltzman retired on Sunday. Phil called races at Calder, and other Florida tracks for over 21 years. His famous stretch call, "and they're not going to get him/her today" is legendary. Phil also ownes horses and loves to play poker. Racing will miss this colorful track announcer.

Got to love hearing this when your horse is out in front. Definitely a classic.

Spent many a day hearing that at Calder - and on the nightly "Calder Racing Report" - definitely a classic.
