Pick 3's and Pick 4's on Belmont Day.
Interesting races on Belmont day just before the Belmont.
Race 8 - Only a two horse race the way I see it. #2 Lost in the Fog or #6 Egg Head. Not great value in either but in a pick four......who knows ????? Race 9 - I really like #5 Funny Cide here. (And I really like betting against Funny Cide because he's such a fan favorite.) but every now and then he steps up and wins a good one. Evening Attire could be tough here but he doesn't seem to like Belmont the way he likes Saratoga. #9 Limehouse scares me. he's just 4 Yrs old and has been doing well this year. Race 10 - The toughest of all the races today. But #7 America Alive has been in the money 8 of 9 on the turf and recently won the Turf Classic @ Churchill. Another horse who seems to coming into his own. #8 Relaxed Gesture finished in the money in all 6 of his turf starts. Has won both starts this year under Clement. #1 Artie Schiller - I hate betting a favorite in a race like this but if I lost the pick 4 because I didn't use this horse, I'd be sick. He's 4 for 5 on the Belmont turf with a second. I believe all in stakes company. He is 11 for 12 on the turf, again almost all in stakes company, and the time he finished out of the money he steadied twice. Race 11 - The Belmont - To make a long write up short.....If #9 Afleet Alex shows up with three legs he should win. Anyone else, will have to make a big step up win this. That being said one horse puzzles me.....#11 Chekhov - They paid a mint for this horse last April (2004) and raced him back in Feb. in Stakes when he was still a maiden and ran decent right behind Giacomo. They gave him some time off and he seems to have come back a different horse. Won his maiden convincingly. Came back as the favorite in the Peter Pan against other winners and was out of it at the start. This remind me a little of last years Belmont where Smarty seemed to be the obvious choice. And like last year, I took a shot with a horse who seemed to be coming into his own at the right time and Birdstone was the biggest score of my life. I don't feel it would that big, but if any horse can pull an upset I think it could be Chekhov. I'll use Chekhov with Alex and Giacomo, just in case that Derby wasn't a fluke. So here we go..... In the Pick 4's Race 8 - #2 Lost in the Fog & #6 Egg Head Race 9 - #5 Funny Cide & #9 Limehouse Race 10 - #1 Artie Schiller, #7 America Alive, #8 Relaxed Gesture Race 11 - #5 Giacomo, #9 Afleet Alex, & #11 Chekhov. A $1 box will cost $36 A $2 box will cost $72 In the Pick 3's Race 9 - #5 Funny Cide & #9 Limehouse Race 10 - #1 Artie Schiller, #7 America Alive, #8 Relaxed Gesture Race 11 - #5 Giacomo, #9 Afleet Alex, & #11 Chekhov. A $1 box will cost $18 A $2 box will cost $36 Good Luck to everybody I hope you have to go to the IRS window. LOL |

Good luck today Tin Man...I like your choice of Chekhov in the Belmont Stakes. He will definitely be included in my exotic wagers today. I also like Andromeda's Hero.
