Is Pimlico Finished?

They are down to 20 days of racing, and cannot draw flies most of those days. For the Preakness, the attendance has been described as good, to fair,to poor. Bottom line is that considering the filly running against the boys, and the jockey change, the attendance was terrible.

I do not see how the track can survive. It is in terrible shape, and is rarely used. Racing in Maryland is just about finished. I wold love to see the race moved to Hollywood Park. Get a West Coast taste in the Triple Crown, along with a different surface. Arlington would not be a bad pick either. Something has to be done to make the 2nd "Jewel" of the Triple Crown a jewel again.

arlington is a beautiful track, that would be awesome if they moved it there.

Ramon Dominguez left pimlico as well, Preakness wont move anytime soon its always been that narrow track and never got much interest in the triple crown, i would be open for a move to Monmouth though they did great when the breeders cup was there, still a very nice track

Anyplace would be better than that old dump of a track. Running the Preakness there takes away from the glamor that was the Triple Crown. As a racing fan and owner (not that I will ever have a horse that would be that good. We are struggling with claimers now), I would love to see the Preakness climb back to the stature it once had, but it will never happen at that track. Like I said, Arlington or Hollywood Park would be two great tracks to move it to. I am sure their are others.
