Play of the week... Monmouth 7/22 R5

Will post the full card soon... for now, I am going to break this one down for you...

The horse is Joey P.

Jockey: Joe Bravo
Trainer: Frank Costa

Last Raced: 07/04/2005 at MONMOUTH PARK in Race 5
Finish Position: 1st
Last Reported Workouts:
07/16/2005-MONMOUTH PARK-Three Furlongs-Dirt Fast-36:40 Breezing
06/08/2005-MONMOUTH PARK-Three Furlongs-Dirt Fast-36:80 Breezing
05/28/2005-MONMOUTH PARK-Five Furlongs-Dirt Muddy-1.00:40 Handily

This is why I like him and think he can win.

He is undfeated in all of his 5 starts and has never gone more than 6 furlongs... that is why he is able to enter this race. NOW, frank costa is entering him into this race because he never had the chance to train to horse to stretch out... This is to determine if the connections will enter him into the haskell on aug 7th. I've been following this horse since his first race and his last two starts were wire jobs @ 6 furlongs... did I forget to mention they were a week apart... two back he romped an allowance field in the slop by 5+ lengths and came back a week later on a fast track to romp a stakes field 100k, I Believe by 7+ lengths... Do I think he can romp optional claimers @ 1m on the dirt. No question about it. This horse is the real deal and this is just going to prove to those who doubt he can go a mile.

There is only one thing... His regular rider joe bravo was dismounted from his horse today in a nasty run down the stretch @ monmouth... He suffered a fractured collerbone. I dont know if the horse will scratch or not since bravo will not be on board... If they decide to run him without bravo, I would expect to see a better price and another leading rider... But, I am still on board for whackin the hell outta of it at the totes!

GLTA!

Nice try Trader...I watched the race and he looked good at the top of the stretch, thought we had a winner. He just couldnt handle the extra distance. Not sure if the rider would have matter, but you will get them next time...
