On the Road...Preakness play

Been on the road the last 2 days traveling east to visit family. At my sisters house right now in Mass and planning on going to a sports bar close by with my brother-in-law to watch the race. Thought id post my thoughts on the Preakness before we head out. For those who have followed me on here, you know Ive liked Barbaro since earlier this year and I still think he is the horse to beat today. I am not saying he is a sure thing, but I definitely like his chances. I only see 3 other horses with any realistic chance to beat him today. Brother Derek is the obvious 2nd choice and I also like Bernardini and Like Now(if he gets loose on the front end and no goes after him, he may run away with it). Bernardini is the horse to watch today in my opinion. This a lightly raced horse( only 3 races) who has improved with each race. His last race was a grade 3 win at Aqueduct in the Withers where he posted a 104 beyer figure despite the jockey losing the whip in the stretch run. If this horse moves forward again today, he could pull a major upset. I just placed a wager at Pinnacle on this horse to win at +1466, which basically is 14-1 odds. Sweetnorthernsaint is horse alot of people like, but I dont think he can win today. However I will include him underneath in my exotic play. So, to sum things up, I feel Barbaro will win today which means the only way to make any money is playing a trifecta keying him on top...

$2 trifecta wheel 6 with 1,5,7,8 with all costing $56

Good luck to all today at the races...

Awesome call on Bernardini, Wabash. I played Barbaro in an Exata Box w/ Bro Derek, Bernardini, and Like Now, and then put in a Win bet on Bernardini. Big Winner!!!!

Thanks!

Glad you made some money Grand...I had a nice profitable day also. Was not really a fun race to watch though after what happened to Barbaro. Hopefully, they wont have to put him down...

I threw 20 across on Bernardini after I read your post. Thanks for the play. Very sad about Barbaro. That sure took the gloss off the race.
