Saturday's Derby prep races...

Fountain of Youth @ Gulfstream Park Race 10

Nobiz Like Shobiz will be the big favorite here, but there is alot of speed in this race and the pace will be critical as to how this race goes. My choice here is Drums of Thunder, who finished 2nd to Nobiz in the Holy Bull at 27-1 odds. This horse stretched out for the first time last November, after starting his 2 year old career running 6 sprints, and easily won by 9 lengths in N3L allowance race. He next start ended his 2 year old campaign by winning a stakes race at Calder by almost 2 lengths after a rough trip at 6-1 odds. His first try as a 3 year old was his 2nd place finish in the Holy Bull just 1 1/2 lengths behind Nobiz Like Shobiz. This horse has done nothing but get better since stretching out to a route and he is bred to go long being by Concerto, who was a 9 time stakes winner from 21 starts. So he should love the extra furlong here. If the pace is hot, which I think it will be, I love his chances.
