Saturday's Track...TURFWAY...post your picks and thoughts here

Here are my picks for Saturday at Turfway...

Race 1 #4 Harmonic Miss 3-1...Was 2nd last out as favorite with a bobbled start. Should get it done this time out.

Race 2 #1 Dual Fuel 9-5...Drops in class after 4 month layoff, and picks up top rider Bejarano for hot barn winning at 28%.

Race 3 #8 Bush's Song 5-1...Stretching out to a mile for the first time and finishing 3rd as favorite last out against tougher.

Race 4 #8 Fire Strike 4-1...Just a hunch based on a good workout 5 days ago for a new barn...

Race 5 #5 Signals Inthe Wind 5-2...Stetching out to a mile after winning easily by 7 lengths in his first try a month ago.

Race 6 #2 Eyeforglory 7-2...Had 99 beyer speed last out and gets the rail today. ran a bullet work last week. 3 for 4 at Turway.

Race 7 #11 Brett's Favrette 5-1...has 3 wins in 3 starts so far comming off the pace nicely in all 3. The outside post should fit nice to get positioning to come off the pace for another win today.

Race 8 #4 Proud Accolade 8-5...The only graded stakes winner in the field should win this one wire to wire.

Race 9 #8 Spanish Chestnut 5-1...Finished 3rd behind Declans Moon last out after leading most of race. If the track is sloppy, his front running style will be a plus, if he can get to the lead from the outside post.

Race 10 #4 Plumlake Lady 5-1...ITM 7 out of 8 at turfway with 3 victories. Showed good speed in 3 route races and now drops back to a sprint.

Race 11 #2 Sonny's Legacy 5-1...Gets familiar rider Bejarano back aboard, who rode him for 2 wins and 2 thirds last year in 5 tries, both wins comming at Turfway.

Race 12 #5 Unpeteable 3-1...8 year old veteran has beaten much tougher and should take this one wire to wire.

full card....

race 1 4-7-8
race 2 1-5-3
race 3 8-7-5
race 4 8-2-7
race 5 5-8-6
race 6 7-1-6
race 7 11-2-9
race 8 4-2-1
race 9 8-6-4
race 10 4-8-2
race 11 2-7-3
race 12 5-9-4

good luck to all today....

R1 - 4 Harmonic Miss 5-2 - hard to go against the early speed here after finishing second as the chalk last out.

R2 - 9 Funny Jello 5-1 - solid works for a horse that is facing a wide open field.... really could be any one of my four top horses here (1,3,4,9)

R3 - 7 Pinlochle 5-2 - solid maiden winning effort and faces a field here that seems a bit underclassed.... this horse has been solid at thsi diestance and likely tries to go wire to wire

R4 - 4 Montstar 5-2 - scratched out on Friday for this spot in a field where he should go wire to wire

R5 - 1 Night Wing 4-1 - is likely to find a slightly softer pace here so expect him to have more in the tank late

R6 - 3 Summer Man 3-1 - gets Bailey for this race and is bred to go short (6f especially)

R7 - 2 Amazing Buy 5-2 - has the early speed to win this but has shown ability from off the pace... keeps the mid card parade of chalk going!

R8 - 4 Proud Accolade 3-5 - might want to go grab a beer during this race... this horse meets an angle that shows a minimal profit but wins over 75% of the time... hard to go against, but if I had to, I would go with #5 Raving Rocket 15-1 who wired a minor stakes at Hawthorne last out.

R9 - 6 Texcess 6-1 - loses the hood and gets revenge on Spanish Chesnut here.

R10 - 3 Jimmy's Gold 7-2 - looks to revert to the form of two back and try to go wire to wire here, willing to think the chalk will need one race coming off of the shelf

R11 - 3 Rough Draft 7-2 - has done well at this distance and finds a vulnerable favorite here.

R12 - 9 Lovetrando 2-1 - is a strong favorite, loves the course, meets two of my key angles, is tops in all four figure categories that I run... he has a versatile running style which will be hard to beat here even with an outside post.

Good luck all!

-smooth

I remembered why I generally don't play Turfway:

1 winner - 7.00
Ex Box - 13.00, 7.80
Tri Box - 15.60

Don't feel bad, Smooth, I only had 1 winner today also. My wife did better than me today picking 2 winners and 2 others that finished second. We still had a good time today even though we didnt win much. Im not sure if it was the muddy track or what, but neither of the derby prep races ran like anyone expected them to. Proud Accolade looked more like a 10K claiming horse out there today then a Kentucky Derby hopeful. Flower Alley really looked sharp in winning the Lanes End. Looks like he will run next in either the Arkansas Derby or Blue Grass on April 16. Keep an eye on him.
