I am not sure if you really understand what you are doing, playing the exactors and triactors the way you do.

Take race #7 as an example. You box the 4,6 in the exactor play and then you box 2,4,6 in your triactor play. You probably think that the 2 can win for your triactor play. If that is true, then you just wasted your money playing the 4,6 exactor box. Even if the 2 finishes second, you have wasted your exactor box.

Perhaps you should reconsider your betting strategy. Anyways, good luck AB.

Skippy...thx For The Input, But I've Been Doing This For A While And It's Worked Out Ok For Me. I Realize It's Not The Traditional Way To Play Horses, But I Gotta Do What Works For Me. Just Out Of Curiosity, Since You've Pointed Out What I Did Wrong With The 7th Race...how Would You Play It?

Hello AB.....

I wouldn't say what you are doing is wrong. What I am saying is that in order to cash BOTH tickets, the first thing you need is for either the 4 or 6 to WIN. It would be counter productive to put the 2 in the WIN position in the triactor play.

In this example, it seems like your top 2 picks are the 4 and 6 with a heavy lean to the 2. I would do:
$20 exactor box of 2,4,6 (cost = $120)
$10 exactor box of 4,6 (cost = $20)
$10 exactor part wheel of 4,6 with 2,4,6 (cost = $40)
$5 triactor box of 2,4,6 (cost = $30)
Total cost is $210.

Of course you would hope that 2,4,6 will fill the top 2 finishers with the higher paying horse first. If you look at the race results from the previous days, you will see that the majority of the time, there is more money to be made from exactors than triactors. Since you are only taking 3 horses in your triactor, you have no room for error whereas in the exactor, you do have a bit of room.

The goal is to MAXIMIZE profits and MINIMIZE losses. So right off the bat, you don't want to throw half of your tickets away if the 2 happens to WIN. A couple of weeks ago at Mohawk, I was able to cash every ticket. I loaded up on my key exactor play and backed it up with various savers. Just give my ideas a thought or two and if you deem any of them worthy, then you can incorporate them into your betting strategy. Good Luck in your plays AB
