Tomcito...

For those who have not yet heard about this horse, I thought Id give a little background. Tomcito is a 3 year old colt that was bred in North America, but been racing exclusively in Peru where he had to race against 3 year olds and older. He won his 1st 2 races by a combined 26 lengths and then was entered in his first stakes race where he finished 2nd, his only defeat. he was then placed in the second leg of the Peru triple crown, a race that covers 1 1/4 miles and he won easily by over 9 lengths. From there he was entered in the group 1 National Derby in November, a race that covers 1 1/2 miles and he won again by over 3 lengths. Both of these last 2 races can be seen on YouTube. This horse has an amazing kick and can obviously handle the distance of the Derby. Whether he has the class to compete is the only question... Plans are top either ship him to Dubai or run him in the Florida Derby at Gulfstream. he has been training at the Palm Meadows training facility in Florida...
