I think Ryan Palmer, the Sony winner, is going to win again this year. Not sure when but someone to keep an eye on. He had a bit of a hangover effect, but I think once he settles down, he could win at maybe his home course in Fort Worth. He started the day 5 under and made birdies on the first two holes. So it will be nice to see him get a top 10.

THE ART AND SCIENCE OF PICKING GOLF WINNERS
1. CLOSER with CHARACTER. Certain guys see the finish line and cross it and others are destined for second place.
2. RELAXED CONFIDENCE, FOCUS and a HUNGER to win. It's a mental game and their mind has to be in the right frame with a determination and focus. As Harry Vardon said: "To play well you must feel tranquil and at peace. I have never been troubled by nerves in golf because I felt I had nothing to lose and everything to gain."
3. COURSE. Does the course layout favor the strengths of the golfer and does it expose their weaknesses. Previous form can change immediately for those who feel comfortable on a course and its greens.

The golf commentators are thinking Allenby could be someone to watch this weekend if the wind picks up since he is a good wind player. But for him, it call comes down to making those putts.

Good luck Weazel. We will see if snedeker can hold on. He is an excitable type who in his five times in the lead after the third round has averaged 74.25 in the final round by my count. His lone win was shooting a 63 I believe it was and coming way back from the back in a weak field at Wyndham in 2007.
Winning while sleeping on the lead separates the men from the boys on the pga tour.
It will be a fun day. Piercy is trying to learn from last year when he had a chance to win at this tourney. Fowler is trying to show he is the real deal without much pga experience.
Mark Calc trying to win at 50. Can he control his nerves on the short putts
Robert Allenby trying to get the monkey off his back after not winning here in nearly a decade. Helps him to come from behind.
Camilo Villegas trying to shake out last week's tough loss to Paul Casey. He is the one in this group with the most determination and confidence but still relaxed. He is dealing with fatigue. You could see it Saturday with mental blunders that I associated with being mentally tired. Those two birdies on 17 and 18 were huge and should have given him confidence. He has the grit and determination that I love. He needs to draw energy from the crowd. If he is close on the back nine, I don't see him blowing it. The question is does he have the energy, which I didn't think he would have all four days in handicapping this tourney. He had some bad luck when the wind blew in Saturday while he reached the scoring holes. it made 15 especially tough to reach in two when he should have with his drive. They also slowed the greens in anticipation of the wind and at least three putts he had on line fell short but were on line. He believes this tournament is his. He had it in his grasp and let it go. He did that last week and not expecting he will let this one get away. Just needs to draw from his reserves. Flying to Columbia tonight and hosting Nationwide tour event. Still playing next week at Honda when he will get in Thursday morning. Predicting he will miss the cut there.

Yang appears the one beat. he is definitely not going to melt under pressure like the others. holing out from the fairway on ten appeared to spark him

Yang's failure by bogeying 17 should create opportunity for him in the next month or so. He has good chance to rebound at a tourney in Florida after the CA championship. I think fatigue simply got to Villegas. He needs some days off then look out.

You have got to be ticked at Fowler for laying up. What is up with these players being afraid. We saw that at the hope and buick.
