Fountain Coke Survey

This survey is only for regular Coke drinkers(not users) and has to do with the fast food chains/restaurants which serve the best tasting Coke from their fountain dispensing machines.
Rate the Coke from a scale of 1-10 from any of the places you go to with commentary if you like.
Obviously opinions will differ based on a number of factors, one of the best being how sweet you like the Coke which is based on the ingredients used and overall mix/blend:
Here are my ratings:
McDonalds-9
Burger King-7 all right but for me not sweet enough
Wendys--5 The Coke there is mixed in with a number of other flavors brands on their machines and if you choose the one you want.
For me their regular Coke borders on what you get from a can or bottle of Coke, which imo is ok but nowhere near as good as you get from a highly rated soda fountain
Friendlys-9.5 very sweet with a very nice sparkling taste to it.
Denny's-9.5 for the same reason as Friendly's
Popeyes-9
Longhorn-8 decent-the rating is not higher because the Coke dispenser comes from a bar, whose dispensers in general don't serve Coke quite as sweet as places cited above.
Subway-7 for same reason as Burger King
Seven Eleven 7
Red Rose Restaurant(not a chain) but a very good Italian restaurant in Springfield with a very nice blend-9

Anyways those are the names which come to mind for me for now.
If you would like to participate in this poll and/or disagree with my choices or add additional places, feel free to do so.

They all taste like Coke to me. The only difference being the ice factor.

Really?
Do you go to any or all of the places I named, and if so, the taste is no different from one to the other?
Perhaps I have unusual and sensitive taste buds and can detect the difference.
Let me ask you this:
For you is there any difference in general between the taste of fountain coke as opposed to bottled and canned coke?
For me the difference is most glaring in that instance.
I would bet money if someone gave me a glass of coke from the places I cited and which I gave a 9 or higher and a glass of bottled or can coke, I could pick out the bottled or canned coke every time.

Box of syrup is the same at all places. CO2 levels might be adjusted and I suppose the amount of syrup that comes out along with the water might be fractionally different. The hose/line might actually influence the taste too for example if they used a line for Coke for 5 years and then used that same line for Diet Coke you would probably have a different tasting Diet Coke.

With that said I'm a loyal Diet Coke drinker and will only drink it cold & over ice. I dont understand how you can differentiate from fountain to fountain across different restaurants thats hard to believe but I guess possible.

PEACE

McDonalds and 7-11 use more syrup per 20ozs.
I know the 7-11's by me are strict with cleaning out the hoses routinely.
Those 2 are the only ones that have a substantial difference around here.

I have eaten Longhorn for free the last decade every week and I can tell you there is a difference to me from their fountain and MCD's.

I am weird AND crazy though, but I'd bet $$$ between a MCD's coke and anybody elses.

MCP-Thanks for the explanation you cited in your post.
That said, before I go to any of the places I cited with the rating attached, believe it or not a certain sense of how the Coke is going to taste comes to mind and is important to drawing me or perhaps even not drawing me to that restaurant for that particular meal.
Last night I decided to get a takeout Meatball Grinder at one of my favorite local take-out restaurants.
However they don't have fountain soda, only canned and bottled soda and worst of all they serve Pepsi which for me is ok on occasion but I much prefer the taste of Coke.
Anyways, they were a little busy and told me that to come back in about 10 minutes.
Well I said ok and then got into my car and drove over to McDonalds which about 3/4 of a mile away and got a large Coke to go and then brought it back to the restaurant, got my grinder and drove home and had a very nice meal while watching football and sports on tv.
Sometimes under similar circumstances when I am "Coked out," or think I have had too many of late, I have gone to the same restaurant, bought a grinder or some pasta, grabbed a bottle or can of Orange or Grape Crush or even Root Beer, which are my alternate choices.
