17 year old kid TASED for running onto field last night ...

i was at the game, and it started out as your standard 'drunk fan running onto the field' routine. turns out NONE of this was the truth. the kid was a 17 year-old who was 100% sober and not on any drugs. the cops also decided that trying to tackle him would be too hard, so they used a TASER gun on this 5'10 150 pound kid. it was truly insane to watch it actually unfold. here are a couple videos to watch...

in the second video, you can see the cop shot multiple tasers that missed before actually connecting. he was VERY close to hitting one of the ushers (the one in the light blue shirt)

here is what they said about it this morning ...

"This is the first time that a Taser gun has been used by Philadelphia police to apprehend a field jumper," Phillies spokeswoman Bonnie Clark said in a statement. "The Police Department is investigating this matter and the Phillies are discussing with them whether in future situations this is an appropriate use of force under these circumstances. That decision will be made public."

p.s. the kid apparently called his dad earlier in the game to ask permission to run onto the field ... the dads response? "i dont think its a good idea, son" .... the kid, Steve Consalvi, starts at Penn St. this August.

Hell I wouldn't put it past the kid to file one himself even though he doesn't really have a leg to stand on, you run onto the field at your own risk. Of course with that said not having a leg to stand on hasn't ever stopped anyone from suing before in this country now has it?

Seriously though I really do find this incredible, people have died from these things, and especially considering he was just a scrawny kid this easily could have turned into one of the most infamous moments in sports history, so yeah all things considered I am going to go out on a limb and say we are probably not going to see this adopted as standard protocol for dealing with these situations in the future.

Oh yeah and one more thing it's a good thing the kid wasn't black because then there would be a city-wide riot.

Can't a handful of guys chase down a kid and tackle him? Oh thats right, there a bunch of fat pigs like the one in the picture that have to do it the easy way. Seriously where is the kid to go? Why use a taser?

i agree here ... he wasnt attacking anyone either. it was a shame to see this 17 year old kid be the one that they tried to make an example out of .... plenty of drunks there to do that to instead

I believe what should happen is on the back of every ticket a disclaimer is there where it says if you run out on the field you will be shot, then at the beginning of the game an announcement comes over the PA anybody going onto the field of play will be shot. I believe it will only take one or two getting their asses shot before you no longer have this problem.

I also know a scrawny stupid ass punk can have a knife or a gun as much as a 6 foot 5 300 pound guy can.
