For the second consecutive year, Albert Pujols is No. 1 in Sporting News' annual ranking of baseball's best players. This year, though, our panel -- 125 experts, including 18 Hall of Famers -- picked a new No. 2.

Wish they'd separated out the pitchers from the position players. Don't see how you can mix the two when you're talking "best." Their job descriptions aren't comparable. If you're talking "most valuable" I could understand mixing them.

Todd Helton WAS a great player, but he goes from not ranked last year to now he's #34?

Don't know what he's doing now that would deserve to be on that list.

That's the one that stood out to me.

Also would put Werth higher, think he's very underrated

How can someone who just hit their first HR in 22 games be on the list and the ML Leader in HRs not be on it?
