rome i wanted to pick ur brain on alt runlines

ive thought about them for awhile and notice you play alot of them

if you look at dogs, or generally, teams with losing records - why are they bad? usually bad bullpens and usually cause they can't win close games, ie 1 run games

so ive thought that if they are gonna win, its gonna be by a wider margin

is this your thinking or what is the reason you play so many alt runlines

I like the alt rl because they are +EV,and you could very well be illustrating why

I dont only play dogs on the alt though

im not a baseball guy as far as nuances like you, I respect your knowledge of the sport

but I know through a database I have access to

that in the long run, which of course means nothing on any one game though, that a book has less of a theoretical hold

its just a math thing for me

thanks for explanation

do you find that your "math thing" has more impact in bases than other sports.

Hard to explain what I'm asking, but gaining edge over the book by wagertype or line seems to me would be more important in bases than other sports.

hopefully what im tryin to ask is coming across

Not sure what youre asking. Alt spreads in football for example I have not cross referenced

that could take years

I dont have the greatest NFL or NCAAF database, seems those are guarded a lot more by whomever has compiled the data

I do have a DB for NFL from 1994 to present but its nothing to brag about

I suppose its more important in bases to gain an edge for the simple fact it is an every day sport

nothing to do with alt spreads

seems i spend more time in bases tryin to gain mathematical edge over books than i do in other sports - and i wonder why that is - cause you should try to gain same edge in every sport.

but maybe its cause like you said its an everyday thing and dont have an entire week to handicap a matchup like you do in foots.

J if you want to give the books less of an edge, which what we both mean when we say "edge"

get yourself a line service. One claims to be the best but is overpriced

for best bang for your buck I can tell you via IM.

Jack wouldnt want their name posted because the creators just happen to be associated with a diff forum

1-1 split

upinya83 I laughed as I watched the reds give up 3 runs in the 1st and go on to lose

5-2, even with a +EV tip, I still gotta pick winners
