Has moved into a tie for 9th with Shin Shin Choo

Jason Bartlett has a higher OPS than Morales and if defense counts for anything, which it should, we have to drop him to 17th

From The Elias Sports Bureau

Joe Mauer went 3-for-5 to raise his batting average to .383 and hit his 24th and 25th homers of the season as the Twins rallied for a 9-6 win over the Rangers. Ted Williams (1941 and 1957), Joe DiMaggio (1939), Lou Gehrig (1930 and 1936), Babe Ruth (1931)... those were the last four American League players prior to Mauer with at least 25 home runs and a .380 batting average this late in a season. (The Twins have played 119 games.)

So no one in 52 years has had a season like Mauer

Twins will not make the playoffs, but Mauer is your MVP
