All Star Game - Betting info

At the time of this writing, the following Match Odds/Moneyline were available: American League (2.08, +108) and National League (1.9, -111)

The American League had won 12 straight All-Star games before being handed a 3-1 defeat last year at Angel Stadium. It also served as the Junior Circuit's lone defeat since 2003 when awarding the winning league's representative home-field advantage in the World Series. "Home field can be a very important component to winning the world championship," said Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver. "So I think it's a great thing for the best players in the world to go out there and compete." The roster will definitely have plenty of new faces, as 18 players will be playing in its first All-Star Game for the AL side.

Weaver gets the starting nod for the American League due to Detroit's Justin Verlander pitching Sunday. The right-hander enters with an 11-4 record and Major League-low 1.86 ERA. Weaver has been magnificent over his last two starts, winning consecutive home games over the Dodgers and Mariners, surrendering just two runs and 10 hits over 17 frames. "I'm going to go out there and give it a go," Weaver stated. "That's for sure. It's going to be fun competing against those guys." He has made just one start at Chase Field when facing the Arizona Diamondbacks, allowing three runs and four hits over six innings.
