Manager Don Mattingly's squad has now failed to register a winning record against American League opponents for the seventh consecutive year. The Dodgers are 18-23 on the road, but have enjoyed great success at the plate in those contests. Offensively, the team leads the majors with a .282 batting average on the road, which happens to be .043 higher than its home mark. Los Angeles is 26-36 versus right-handed starters this year.
Dodgers starting pitcher Chad Billingsley is 7-6 with a 4.22 ERA in 17 starts this season and has picked up back-to-back victories.
