Another Inexplicable Umpire Blunder
This one ends up NOT affecting the game score but easily could have....
Umpire misses a call that he was literally staring at....
Base hit scores a Rays baserunner with nobody out in the 10th inning---the throw is cut off and an idiotic baserunning mistake allows the throw to beat the trail runner at 3rd base by about 40 feet---third baseman tags him (clearly--his jersey even moved) with the umpire steps away and staring at the play
Watch it on Sportscenter---outright ridicuous--When will there be accountability to these umpires; In any other facet of life (doctor, lawyer, toll booth operator, cashier @ a grocery store) employees would be out of a job!! But this one was just too bad for an apology in my mind
