ARod, Bonds, Clemens, etc.

As I watched ARod smash a go ahead HR and started to realize how badly he is going to smash the HR record I got to thinking.......

It seems like most people are already past his steriod thing. Even though lots of people can't stand the dude, it goes to show ya that in this country it's better to just come out and admit your wrong doings and ask for forgiveness. Look at the Hamilton stuff. Ya, it got some press but I think the way he handled it helped it from getting crazy and out of hand. Once people realized that the Rangers and his family knew about the incident the day after it happened and that he had come clean about it right away, I think people tended to be more willing to forgive and hope the best for him. You hardly hear anything about Giambi and Pettitte because they took this approach as well.

Clemens, Bonds, McGwire, and Palmerio prove that the strategy of "That's my story and I'm sticking to it" doesn't work AT ALL! Going that route has made most people hate these guys. Palmerio is a disgrace and Clemens is not far behind. McGwire and Bonds are simply irelevant. I firmly believe that if Clemens and Bonds would have taken the approach of Arod and company, they would probably be playing this season. Instead, like Palmerio and McGwire, they simply hide out and stick to their bullshit stories. This also makes me think "How big a dick is Barry Bonds?" The guy gets absolutely no love and may be the best player of his generation. If he would have come clean I believe he would be in someones lineup right now.
