Aug. 31st - Milwaukee Brewers @ Cincinnati

Tuesday, August 31st

Milwaukee Brewers @ Cincinnati

Starting Pitchers:
Gallardo
Harang

Yovani Gallardo toes the rubber a scant 4 days after being robbed at gunpoint. He stated: “Just going out there, getting a bite to eat before heading home, trying to stay out of trouble, and unfortunately trouble finds us,”
hmm...
Walking around the drug capitol (southside) of Milwaukee at 3:00am looking for some eats? I guess it's plausible.
More realistically, he may very well be suffering the cost(s) of success... huge $30 million dollar multi-year contract, all-star selection, the pressure of everyone's expectations. It happens.
His recent stats are not pretty and his last start(Jul 27th) vs. Cinncy he only lasted 2.2 innings surrendering 10 hits and 6 runs.

Aaron Harang comes off the DL (back spasms) and has not pitched since June 30th (61 day layoff). He posted a 4-2 record and 3.94 ERA in his last 8 before the back problem.

The Reds are riding high after their 10th inning triumph has left them sitting on a 6-game lead. Before Monday's game Dusty Baker stated: “Let's try to make it six and get as many as we can. We're playing the way we can. Let's try to get greedy.”
Greedy?
On a night when the Reds made tons of baserunning mistakes, hit into several double plays, and just played some downright ugly baseball, they still managed to win when all the breaks were going against them...
That's not greed that's "mojo" and right now the Reds have got plenty!

I'm not in the habit of taking a pitcher off the DL but with Gallardo's decision making seemingly in a tailspin Harang with a bad back looks like the right side to me.
