Betting info: Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field

At the time of this writing, the following Match Odds/Moneyline were available: Atlanta Braves (2.76, -132) and Chicago Cubs (2.24, +124)

Cubs are 17-8 when losing the first two games of a series, while the Braves are 0-4 in Lowe’s last four tries versus the NL Central division.

Atlanta won its sixth straight game Tuesday night and kept its lead to 8 1/2 games in the National League Wild Card race. The Braves bullpen has been a major strength for the club all season and the pitching staff has held the Cubs to 3-for-27 with runners in scoring position during the series. Offensively, second-year outfielder Jason Heyward provided the big hit, belting his first career grand slam in the 5-4 win last night. Atlanta is now a season-high 26 games over .500 and 37-27 on the road during the 2011 campaign.

Braves starting pitcher Derek Lowe is 8-11 with a 4.73 ERA in 27 starts this season and has alternated wins and losses over his last four outings. The right-hander is coming off a 4-2 home win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, tossing five shutout innings and scattering four hits. He will be making this 17th road start of the year, coming in with a 5-8 record and 4.62 ERA. In 11 lifetime starts versus the Cubs, Lowe has tallied a winning 3-2 mark and 3.89 ERA, including an 8-4 loss two starts back at Turner Field (6 IP, 5 ER). He is 1-0 with a 2.67 ERA in four career starts at Wrigley Field.
