BLAZE'Z BEST BET Monday
Yesterday wasn't fun as we saw the Yankees cash and then the Cardinals strand 11 runners and have a one of the shittiest innings to give away the game in extra's. Infield single where they let the runner beat out a routine play. Then he steals 2nd and the throw goes into the OF. He advances to 3rd and that's all that took as the next pitch was belted into CF for a sac fly. Not to mention the idiot on STL getting picked off 2nd in the 8th after hitting a leadoff double.
Then the ATL game where they just couldn't execute, and ofcourse allow the 2nd walkoff loser on my card. It happens and i am positive that i have had those go my way too, so im not complaining but rather recapping. However, Im ready to get back at it and.... Two plays today: 1x Red Sox RL -1.5 / -135 Jon Lester makes his return from the DL and takes on a visiting KC team. KC has been decent of late, BUT only at home AND only when Kyle Davies is not pitching. Kyle sports a 1-9 record with a 7.32 ERA and 1.88 whip. Left handers are batting 352 and Right Handers are batting a dismal 330 off of Davies. Now you might have thought Brett Cecil last night was MEAT against Texas. Weird things happen, so we won't go too far with our bankroll here. However, we have to be pretty confident the Sox can score some runs off this guy. Lester's best weapon is his ability to get lefties out (208 avg). Hosmer, Gordon, Francouer, Melky Cabrera come to mind. Sox are red hot and aren't traveling. I expect the continuity to continue tonight. 1x Colorado / LA O7 I was struggling to find a side, but i ultimately realized i like the OVER here. I started off by wanting to find a way to back the home team. But im not sure i trust them out hitting anyone or their bullpen for that matter. Rubby De La Rosa has been very good recently, but he has faced these guys before so they should be a little more familiar with his stuff (which is fast). I also think he might have fits trying to go through all these left handers as he's walking 5 per 9 against LHB. Nicasio is on the mound for the Rockies and he's been stellar at home. However, he's been shit on the road with a 9.00 era and 1.89 whip in 4 games outside of Colorado. Another problem Nicasio is facing is he's allowing a 315 batting average to leftys. Furcal, Either, Loney, Gwynn etc. Kemp has also touched the kid up too going 2 for 3 with a homer off Nicasio, and Kemp has four homers and 11 RBIs in these Colorado/LA matchups in 2011. Troy Tulowitzki, batting .405 (15 for 37) with team highs of four homers and 12 RBIs against Los Angeles this season and the Dodgers, though, had two of their best offensive games the last time these teams met, totaling 21 runs and 35 hits on June 11-12 to split a four-game set in Denver. Los Angeles, batting .297 and averaging 5.9 runs while losing five of nine in this matchup in 2011, is not the only team scoring in bunches off Rockies pitching. Colorado’s starters have a 5.48 ERA in 11 games since the All-Star break after Ubaldo Jimenez was tagged for five runs in Sunday’s loss at Arizona who blasted this rotation. With only 7 runs we'll jump onto the OVER instead of trying to pick the winner here. BOL
