Bobby Cox....the manager he is

This guy has got to be the WORST in-game manager ever!!!!

1st & 3rd 1 out lefty @ bat...venters in the pen absolutely lethal to lefties = leaves starter single to right tie game

Now 1st & 2nd 1 out tie game righty @ bat...guy batting is hitting .462 with runners on = leaves starter in inside the park 3-run homer

Now he goes to get the starter!!! Fuking terrible. He has great numbers because of talent, period!!! Terrible manager, just terrible!!!

sometimes he leaves you scratching your head. the real concern here is why the hell doesn't jurrjens EVER throw a curve/breaking ball? it has been fastball/change all year for him... can't blame bobby for jair leaving the ball up across the plate with no movement

7th inning 1out. He has done his job. Time to trust the pen.

you are right tiger. When a starter gets you to the 7th inning, He has done his job. Now they have Farnsworth from the Royals. Why they traded him 2 years ago to the Yankees is beyond me. He will make a great set up. But since they got Ankel, thy should of traded Mc Clouth.

Does anyone have any personal experience or heard of Bobby Cox being a drunk.

Every time I saw Leo Mazzone and Cox in the dugout they both looked like they were hungover as hell.

Like it or not Bobby actually asks or depends on player input. If the pitcher says Im good he goes with it. This time it busted his a++. I do agree with your assesment but his players will go the death for him.

from everything i have read and heard, you are correct all his players love to play for him. he is the definition of a "player's coach." i would think most players, espicially at the pro level, would have the confidence they can all get the job done, but in the end he is the manager and should look past that to put his team in the best possible position to win. i personally strongly belive he does not do this near as well as other managers.
his past post-season failures can't all be put on him, his players have definitely not lived up to their abilities. i think if he was a little tougher on his players, it would have made them more mentally tough which is what wins the big games. but i say again, i have seen over and over him get out coached on the big stage. terrible in-game coach imo.
