The Pirates pitching has not done well over this stretch and that is what got them into contention. Perhaps they are wearing down now as the season progresses. I dont think we will see them in first place again this season. Milwaukee is hot. Regardless its entertaining baseball.

Seeing things that look a lot like Buccos past and its driving me nuts and making me nervous. Alvarez (the human windmill) getting picked off, Maholm not being able to get a bunt down to move a runner over, then getting hit with a Jones grounder to record the final out of the inning. Pitchers constantly pitching behind in the count, hitters swinging at ball 4 for strike 3....

Gotta do more than split w Cubs and Fathers if they're gonna make a move and last night wasn't a good start.

Besides all that they are absolutely KILLING my bankroll in the last 2 games.

Alvarez has been rough to watch at times.. But he is so young with really one year of MLB under his belt (500 ab).. Way to early to bail.. IMO he will be fine in years to come..Something about his swing and batspeed intrigues me he just looks like a hitter.. Pressley getting hurt was a major blow for a Rook ( another sweet stroke probably best on the team).. IMO Bucs made the right move not letting young players go.. Ollendorf (?) and Lincoln will get some starts to finish the year IMO.. Better team overall will need to catch lighting in the botlle but the next 3 years could get interesting..

Yeah, come to think of it.....everything started going downhill right around the time Pressley got hurt. He should be back in a few days, and can lead off. Jones will move to the bench unless Ludwick is a complete bust. I'd like to think they will get back on a roll tonight, but after betting them Sunday big and losing a heartbreaker, and betting them even bigger last night and laying an egg...I just don't have a lot of confidence.
