Buster Olney says Felix Hernandez is front runner for Cy Young

over CC Sabathia

Agree or Disagree?

Felix, who IMHO is the best pitcher in the AL, will not win the Cy Young. CC deserves it by virtue of his stats and because he is doing this on a team in contention. The voters always factor in what a pitcher has done to make their team better and a contender. A record of 10-10 suggests that he only helps his team win 50% of the time. Where would the Yankees be if CC's record was 12-12??? Once again Felix will get short-changed for being on a weak team.

CC got some wins earlier in the season he shouldn't have due to NYY scoring so many runs...

agree - Felix should get it over him...

RP,

I totally agree but there is a major difference between "should" and "will"!

My best,

Maybe he deserves it, but he wont win it in my opinion. I believe Carbs & calories Sabathia will in it. He has 19 wins and could have 24 potentially before the end of the year. Without those 20+ wins, perhaps the Yanks are on the outside looking in. For those reasons, I believe he will in the Cy Young award.

yeah - lots of pressure to pitch when you have 5 or 6 runs being scored for you every time out too...

two sides to that argument... plus how do you get motivated playing for a shitty team?

Josh Johnson is fine, if I were looking at two very similar resumes, only difference being one pitching for a contender

Id go with the pitcher on the playoff team...

thats all

that's the problem with the whole system... shouldn't have to be on a winning team... ERA/WIP and BAA should be only measurements... W/L are so subjective... horrible measure of a pitcher.
