Cards v. Rays - betting info

At the time of this writing, the following Match Odds/Moneyline were available: St. Louis Cardinals (2.22, +122) and Tampa Bay Rays (1.79, -127)

Cardinals are 21-8 versus right-handers in interleague play
Rays are 1-4 in Niemann's last five home outings

St. Louis moved its record to 8-5 in interleague action this year after a 5-3 win over Tampa Bay Friday night at Tropicana Field. The Cardinals received a huge offensive contribution from outfielder Colby Rasmus, who launched his fourth home run in seven games, after hitting just five in his previous 71. "Colby's got so much talent that when he gets into a game, a lot of good things can happen," said Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa. The club overall has posted the highest all-time batting average among National League teams in interleague play at .278, while also leading with a .345 on-base percentage. St. Louis has averaged 6.3 runs and hit seven round trippers in its last four contests.

Cardinals starting pitcher Kyle McClellan is 6-4 with a 4.02 ERA in 14 appearances (13 starts) this season. The right-hander is searching for his first win since May 19, as he's lost his last three decisions. McClellan was handed a 5-0 home loss to the Blue Jays last time out, giving up five runs and eight hits over 5 1/3 innings. He is 0-1 with an 8.44 ERA in one career interleague start, while posting an 0-3 record and 4.55 ERA in 21 relief appearances versus the American League. The 27-year-old has tossed just one relief inning against the Rays, allowing one run and a single hit while issuing two free passes.
