Change the Rule.....

Please, ASAP.

All Star Game winner should not have home field advantage. I would rather they flipped a coin before the series starts then let the winning league have it.

PEACE

well I think its a great rule, makes the All-Star game a meaningful game instead of a crapshoot.... there is no fair way to do it but to me this system seems to work the best IMO...

Rangers had there chance, they have nobody to blame but themselves

No fair way to do it?? Really? So best record like in all other sports is not fair?

The season is too long to have a practice game decide who gets home field.

The wins and losses in the National and American leagues mean totally different things.

AS game shouldn't decide home field in the WS. Best record should, no doubt.

Texas had their chance. Did they somehow think they were the Cubs??

No bigger Cub fan on the forum than me. That game 6 sure looked like something that would happen to the Cubs if they ever make it to the WS.

In Theo we trust!!!

I've always been on the fence about this one but lately I've been thinking that its not such a great idea. While I can def understand the reasoning behind it I just don't think MLB should have one game decide something this big. By doing so, MLB is basically taking it out of the hands of the 2 teams involved. Not to mention injuries around the tikme of the ASG, players who get selected but opt out of playing, and this new one that prevents a pitcher from pitching the ASG if they pitched within a few days (not sure exactly how many) of the ASG. I mean seriously...you could potentially (however unlikely) have one year where all the best pitchers for one league not eligible to pitch because they pitched within the time frame. That doesn't seem very fair to me...

And let's face it, sometimes the players that we as fans arent necessarily the best choices. And that's fine by me seeing how the game itself is meant to be for the fans. But to add this whole other dimension to it? I don't know...

I'm curious to see what happens next year and really for the next few years if MLB keeps the ASG home field advantage rule in effect. With the players, managers, etc.

Having said all that...Texas blew it. Plain and simple.

And I wonder what kind of odds Vegas would give for Hamilton falling off the wagon and going on one hell of a bender...

Have no interest in either team and could care less who won.

The All-Star Game deciding who has hone field advantage is one of the dumbest things MLB has done. Has nothing to do with performance on the field over a grueling 162 game schedule, and instead puts it on a meaningless exhibition.

There is no argument to defend it, plain and simple.
