I imagine he'll have a hard time getting in

but you could argue 900 wins and two championships should earn him consideration

a 13 year old girl could have won the world series with the 2 teams he had those years

the rest of his career has been mediocre at best

I must say I'm suprised at the comments. Not many has done what he has especially against the NL teams he faced.

His managerial record is
890 wins
836 Losses
51% winning percentage
other than the 2 World Series rings he hasn't done anything

It'll be tough for him to get in. He's done well as a manager, but not sure if Cooperstown is in his future.

As much as I am a Jays fan & like what Gaston has done for our team, I don't believe he is a first ballot hall of fame type. Could he get in 10 years from now? It is possible, but everything I read & hear, I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

Guys like Cito Gaston and Joe Carter won't get in, great moments but not a great enough career.

Even with today's lower standard for the HOF... he still has 0 chance of getting in.
