Cliff Lee.......

hearing 6yrs and between $137.5M - $150M the Yankees offered...

that's $23M - $25M per...

6 years on a 33 year old guy... I know his delivery is effortless and he keeps in good shape, but man that's a lot of years for an old guy...

In reaction, Texas asked what it'll take to sign him... pretty smart I guess... puts the ball (pressure) in Lee's court...

Are the Nat's really serious about offering him???

And yes I'm sure Nationals are serious but he won't sign with them. But Lee/SS future would be nice.

He'll get 7 I guess.

Id rather let Cliff go and get aggressive and go get Greinke and Garza. We would be far better off and could have both for the same amount as Lee.

It's gonna take a trade involving some big time prospects to get Greinke which would appear to help the Ranger's chances.....and I agree BFD, Garza not a bad backup plan either......speaking of TBay......could also sign Soriano and move Feliz to the rotation

per MLB trade rumors........

•Rangers owner Chuck Greenberg announced on a conference call that the team made Lee an offer for an unspecified amount, according to Anthony Andro of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The lefty is now weighing his options and the Rangers feel good about their chances. Like the Yankees, the Rangers offered Lee a "menu" of choices, Greenberg said.
•The Rangers expect to know by tonight whether they'll be able to sign Lee or not, according to MLB.com's T.R. Sulivan.

regardless they should make a move for Greinke. Im OK with giving up Sheppers or Perez, but not both.

We need 3 solid starters. Cliff Lee should be a bonus imo

i agree. he doesnt have enough pitches.

solid closers are every bit as valuable as a solid starter too
