Closing in on AS Break, Mid Season Awards?
AL MVP- Miguel Cabrera. Toughest decision of the bunch between Hamilton and Cabrera. I slightly lean Cabrera because his numbers are slightly better and he is doing it without the support Hamilton has in the lineup. But by All star break this may be Hamilton with how hot he has been in June and if that can carry over to July.
AL Cy Young- David Price, I think this is the easiest one of them. Kid has really come into his own, and has not gotten the attention he deserves due to the performances of Ubaldo Jimenez and the call up of Stephen Strasburg.
NL MVP- Joey Votto, has his team in a tie for 1st with the Cardinals in the NL Central. Could just as well give it to Pujols, but gotta give props to Votto for what he has done in the middle of this lineup, and has equal if not better numbers that the machine.
NL Cy Young- Ubaldo Jimenez, another easy one after he recovered following shaky start vs Boston to carry a nono into the 7th last time out. Guy has been unreal all year, best stuff in baseball right now, and has had one of the best 1st halfs we've ever seen from a pitcher. Also impressed with Josh Johnson who on a better team might be putting up Jimenez like wins.
