Thumbs down Come on Rays fans

Your team is in first place and you draw 12,446 fans last night

So what do they do?

They give away 20,000 tickets for free to tonight's regular season finale

What a way to get behind your team, embarassing if you ask me

There are no Rays fans, just fair weather Rays fan. Unexceptable for a team that good and exciting.

they arent even fair weather fans though, thats the point yankee is making lol ... they just clinched the playoffs and NO ONE was there. 2 years ago in the world series, more than half the stadium was full of philly fans who came down for the trip. it truly is sad, but then again if you think about it, majority of florida residents are from other states (i.e. myself), and dont cheer for the rays

Attend a Devil Rays game and you will find out why people dont go! That place is a dump. Along with the hard economic conditions its really no suprise...Its not like they are a team full of rich tradition!

However the fact that they are giving seats away may spark something for that city!

Pathetic......how did they get a franchise there in the first place?
One of the most entertaining teams in baseball, win or lose...
And they have had all kinds of success in a short period of time...no excuses

How would you feel if you were an actual die hard fan? You pay your money to see this team & you have some free loader sitting next to you tonight.

I think its terrible and as its been said already, they don't deserve a team, hell the same with the Marlins for that matter.

Not true. Marlins and Braves come out when teams are winning and it means something.

Baseball can't survive in Tampa - no way

If the players are pissed off about the support from the fans and the team gives free tickets away.As a player i am even more pissed because it is artificially manipulated the support or giving a free lunch to ungrateful and undeserving fans. The sad case is most fans are fans when the teams are winning, these aren't the real fans.

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
