I always thought he was a horrendous manager and he somehow raised his ineptitude to a higher level.

Benching your top 4 home run hitters for 3 games ??

Bringing in Ryan Madson in critical innings when you had Urias, Maeda, Baez and Alex Wood in the pen ??

SHOCKED !!

SHOCKED he was not fired

The worst performance from a manager I have ever seen in the World series
I am not disputing much of what you say, and to be fair, I couldn't believe what a comparatively shit lineup he put out there in the first two games at Fenway-it made no sense at all.
As you say though, they still would have won.
The other side of the coin is that if Roberts truly is the worst manager you have seen in WS(I can't remember the details but it seems to me that Dust Baker shit the bed also in critical spots in the WS), then it can also be argued that Cora was one of the best managers we have seen not only in WS but also in the playoffs when just about every move he move and thing he did turned to gold.

He would've been fired if he was the one calling the shots. The LUs were coming from upstairs.

Yes and I don't think that any objective fan out there whether he is a Sox fan or not can dispute the totally masterful job Cora did during the WS and for the entire season.
Even though I defended John Farrell last year to some extent against some of what I deemed to be overly harsh criticism considering that they won two consecutive AL East Titles with him at the helm, imo if he had managed this team from day one of this year, I have serious doubts that they would have come close to winning 108 games and for that matter even the WS.

Really?

Has that been established as fact?... and why ? Thats fuked up if true

Did they also mis manage the bullpen, throw in Ryan Madson in critical situations and pull Buehler and and Hill when he shouldn't have

It is sort of ironic-without his steal of second base in Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS, the Sox season would have been finished.
And now he comes back for an encore and by accident(I think so anyways lol) helps the Sox again in another way to win-now that's what I call having the best of both worlds!!

Thats what Roberts did. He did not give his team a "chance" to win

He cut thrm off in the knees
Dodgers played many different lineups all year. Boston didn't. They both did what they do and the Red Sox just beat the piss out of them.

Buehler was off limits (front offics) and Roberts already threw Hill under the bus when he said Hill told him he was gassed. I think Roberts got sick of taking the bullet.

Frankly Im surprised he even wanted back maybe he didnt want to look like a quitter.

Dodgers stuck to what got them there and that was their platooning. If they lost 4-1 and didnt platoon I think they wouldve caught more shit.

They lost to the best team. No shame in that

PEACE

Different line ups.... .lol...ok

They benched their top 4 hone run hitters

Those are not platoon guys

guys who hit 24-35 HRs are not platoon guys

Same question ...would u want Coras head examined if he benched the top 4 HR hitters on Boston ?

Cora didn't have the depth the Dodgers had. I do not know how many other ways to say that. They played with rotating lineups all year. Pimp even said it. Two different styles and Boston's was better

I do agree though. I think what he did in the postseason was stupid. Pretty sure we all agree on that.

The players still need to come through though and those guys did nothing when they did play. Two guys, Muncy & Buehler. Nobody else after that

You have to play your BEST players

Kiki over Bellinger and Taylor over either Joc or Muncy was a joke

Pederson & Bellinger were 2-28 in the WS. Muncy & Machado were 8-39 (Just over .200)

The 4 combined to go 10-67 (.149 average). It's not like they did anything when they had AB's

Gotta give them more opportunities

no telling what they would have done in some key spots

Seemed everytime Dodgers had a rally going it was Kiki at Bat...or Taylor who was swinging like 2015 Baez

Lets not forget also the brilliant additions of DD such as JD Martinez, Pearce, Kinsler, Brasier, etc. who did more than their part during the season with some timely hitting, pitching and overall play as well as of course
He had plenty of failures in the past, but at least for this season like Price in the playoffs, came though big time.
