its pretty unfortunate that detroit couldnt have their ace up tomorrow

last year the twins found themselves in the tigers shoes this year

giving up a big lead in the standing to eventually lose to the chisox

minny wins and covers the RL, guzzi and gerk happy

Actually Romo, Minnesota didn't have a big lead at all last year, They were a half game behind Chicago on August 1st and the teams were tied on September 1st. It was back and forth most of the season

If Detroit loses, it would be one of the all time collapses, especially with the pitchers Minnesota is throwing out there.

Not saying Minnesota will win or won't win, but just glad MLB got it right this year and said the team that wins the regular season series gets to host the play in game. Shouldn't have come down to a flip of the coin last year when Minny won the regular season series vs. Chicago.

While Detroit hasn't played particularly good, I wouldn't call this one of the all-time collapses. Give your team some credit, the Twins went 16-4 in their last 20, that is some great baseball. Detroit went 10-10, which is average. It's not like they went 4-16 to lose it by themselves.

Porcello piched well against Minny this year, Baker was horrible against Det. Baker ERA at home not very good either. I am surprised the line is that high though.

I see a lot of value in Detroit. Whether for not they win is one thing, but the value is definately in detroits favor. Some key guys for Detroit (Ordonez, Guillen, Polanco) have really good numbers against Baker. Plus Porcello has pitched very well of late. One big thing Minny has going is of course the Metrodome and theyve been playing out of their mind lately.

why not take the tigers here? enough pop in their lineup to squeak one out.

If you look at how each starting pitcher has done when facing the other team, then Detroit would for sure be the play. Plus $150 is pretty good value when looking at that situation.

However, Detroit might not be able to score 4 runs on me right now the way they are hitting. All it takes is one game to bust out of it though. As a Tiger fan, I sure hope that is tomorrow!

Leaning to makeing a larger play on the over. I know its baseball playoffs but the last 3 games between these two teams were also "playoff games", and all three went over total.

Det 6-5
Det 7-2
Min 8-3
any opinions?

Note................

The Tigers had another concern: Their best slugger, first baseman Miguel Cabrera, was taken to a police station early Saturday after what police said was a fight with his wife. Cabrera's blood-alcohol content was three times the legal limit for Michigan drivers, begging the question of why he went drinking in the middle of a key series with the division title up for grabs.

The Tigers have declined comment and Cabrera simply apologized to his teammates and fans for the "distraction."

Cabrera is hitting .323 with 33 homers and 101 RBIs this season, but was 0 for 11 in three games against the White Sox over the weekend that could have wrapped up Detroit's first division title since 1987.
