Dollarbills Wednesday MLB w/10* play.......
great card of games avail. today for us to stuff our pockets.......but one of them specifically is gonna stuff 'em a little more....hou/stl, and here's some things to look for in this one:
CARDINALS have been white hot since the all-star break, and their pitching has been sensational...yet again, dave duncan has taken "cast-offs" and turned them into solid pitchers, and his job with joel pinero has been incredible...pinero won't strike out many hitters, but he won't beat you by issuing walks (only 18 walks in 163 innings!!!), and he forces the ground ball outs by working the bottom of the strikezone all game long.....this year his record may only be 12-9, but his ERA is 3.15, and he's won his last 3 starts with an ERA of 2.95 (8 of his last 9 outings have been quality starts)..his record in august over the last 3 years is an impressive 11-2.....he is 5-2 this year against the division, and 11-5 in night games, with a home ERA of 2.41....the cards have won 70% of their home games vs houston over the last 3 years, and are 6-1 @home this year (8-1 in their last 9)....the astros really stuggle the game after being shutout, going 6-15 over the last 3 seasons, and they're 5-11 as a road underdog of around tonight's number....the astros bullpen has been awful on the road this year, posting an ERA of right around 5, and opponents are hitting around .280 against 'em...roy oswalt's road ERA this year is 4.04 (5.50 ERA in his last 3 starts), and he's gonna get hit tonight....houston has only won 1 of their last 6 road games, the cards have won 13 of their last 16, including the LAST 9 GAMES THAT PINERO HAS STARTED!!!....they keep it rollin' on tonight, big time.......let's do this....... 10* CARDINALS (-135) 3* BLUEJAYS (-105) 2* CARDINALS -2.5 (+250) GL TO ALL
