Question Edgar Martinez, Hall of Famer or not?

Will the DH hold him back?

On the ballot next year!

Edgar Martinez 2247 hits 1219 runs 309 HR 1261 RBI
Cub Legend Ron Santo 2254 hits 1138 runs 342 HR 1331 RBI

Oh, and Santo has 5 gold gloves

So maybe when Santo gets in we can consider Edgar

he was a tough out for a long time. He might get benefit of steroid era & get more votes cause he was just a pure hitter. I think he eventually gets in but probably not for a while

those #s look like they are very comparable

but what about batting averages?

Santo should get in on broadcasting and player combination imo

yep edgars average is higher - santo's was 277 and dont remember edgars now, closed the page but was over 300, maybe near 310 or so.

It is okay tho, Santo became only 3rd cub to have his number retired and said "this is MY hall of fame"
