He will help them obviously but don't think it puts them over the top in the AL and that's a big ass chunk they are paying out.......could handcuff them a bit for the future, we shall see

I thought when VMart got injured the Tigers might make a move
If somehow VMart returns before the season ends, a 3/4/5 of Cabrera/Fielder/Martinez could make Detroit the team to beat

Miggy will be 28 and Fielder 27 on opening day this year. Thats scary.

Miggy playing 3B/LF is also scary which is a problem since they have 3 1B/DH types for the next 3 years when you add Victor into the mix. I don't think its that big of a deal this year since the DH should be free for the 2012 season. Also Victor's contract at 13 M per for the 2013/2014 isn't trade prohibitive (if he doesn't have a no trade clause)

The offense will be very scary. I don't think thats debatable. Overall I don't like spending 214 M over 9 years on another 1B/DH when we already have one who is just as good/young and arguably better then Fielder when the Tigers have a glaring holes at 2B/3B and their overall team speed/defense is already pretty sad.

It doesn't make sense at face value which will end probably making too much sense when the games start.

Get outta here man you were just swinging on Fielder's nuts last week. What did you think he was gonna sign for? 7M/per.

This can be a huge problem in 2013 or late 2012 when Victor gets back, I agree. Until then one of the fatty bros. will play 1b and the other will DH on most days.

Of course I would have loved to have Prince MCP.......but not at the risk of losing Hamilton and others........no way the Rangers were gonna pay that type of price tag......good for him getting his dough and maybe your boys get a shot to get beat again in the ALCS this year
