I think this is a bad move...

Granted Florida is 7 games back but only 2 games under .500..
that's not far behind at all... the Mets have been giving away that kind of lead in the last 2 weeks in recent years.
Last year Florida was 12 games over .500 with one of the lowest payrolls.

Doesn't something have to be said about how awful the bullpen they have is? That's the #1 reason why they haven't been able to make a run yet this year. How will a new manager change the fact they can't close out a game? Terrible decision by Florida ownership.

they do need someone to light a fire under their ass though. Wouldn't surprise me if they hired Bobby Valentine

but yeah Freddie don't pitch in the bullpen & owners are a joke
