Friday Bases with The Wiz

Would of swept last night if it weren't for those damn Diamondbacks,i've never seen nothing so pathetic in my life of wagering on bases.Anyway, today is another day at Cappers Mall.

Washington at Houston

78.8% of the Nationals league high 33 road losses have come by more than 1 run. They will face the Astros who are starting to put it together a bit here with Roy Oswalt carrying a 2.13 ERA over his last 5 starts. Four of those 5 starts have come on the road so I believe he wants to show the home crowd what he has been up to after starting hte season slow.

Olsen has a 6.68ERA on the road this year and faced the Astros at home earlier giving up 5ER in 5IP. Expect much of the same for Olsen. He's pitched well in his 2 starts off the DL but I think he has a let down here today facing the Astros who are hitting Lefties hard .318 avg L5. The Nationals bullpen has been awful 5.84 and I expect them to see a lot of action here today.

Nationals 10-41 L51 as a road dog. They are 9-48 Last 57 vs. RH starter. Astros are 8-2 last 10 as favorites and they are 41-14 last 57 when Oswalt starts at home vs. a team with a losing record.

Houston-1.5

Pittsburh at Philadelphia

Zach Duke and the Pirates will visit the Phillies and Joe Blanton on Friday night. Pirates are 4-10 in their last 14 vs. the Pirates and they are 1-7 in their last 8 in Philly.

Duke who has been excellent as of late has struggled in his career against the Phillies as he is coming off a 6IP 9H and 6ER vs. them in his last start. HIs 3.91 road ERA is over a run higher than his home ERA of 2.77. The Phillies have a .293 average against Duke including Jason Werth who is red hot right now and has is 2-3 with a HR vs. Duke. The Pirates are 5-23 in Dukes Last 28 road starts.

Blanton will go for the Phillies and he is 1-1 with a 2.33 ERA last 3 games. 8 of his last 9 starts have been quality. He has just 1 start against the Pirates at home and he went 7 innings gave up 1H and 0ER. The Phillies are scoring 8.42 r/9 in their last 5 and their bullpen has a 0.66ERA during that time frame. They are 45-17 in their last 62 as a favorite between -151 to -200.

The Pirates have lost 76.6% of their road games by more than 1 run and the Phillies have won 73.6% of their home wins by more than 1 run.

Philadelphia ML & -1.5 RL

Kansas City at Boston

The Red Sox will try to rebound from a rare loss to the Royals tonight when they go up against Brian Bannister and send John Lester to the mound.

Bannister has terrible numbers at Fenway in 2 GS and he is not the type of pitcher that is going to have a rebound or bounce back or be able to pitch on revenge he's just not that type of pitcher he is up and down and that is that. He has pitched well as of late, but facing Boston where he has a 8.91ERA @ Fenway I am confident he will struggle. Actually the Red Sox own a .375 average in 3 games against Bannister. I would not look for run support for Bannister either as they go up against John Lester. The Royals are 0-7 in their last 7 games vs. LH starter.

Lester has great numbers at Fenway vs. the Royals. He has unhittable stuff actually he threw his no hitter here last year against the Mariners and his only other start at home vs. Royals was an 8 inning 1 hitter. So he has given up just 1 H in 17IP vs. the Royals at home. I expect nothing different here tonight as the Royals struggle vs. LHP .277avg 2.25 R/9 vs. LHP. They'll face Bannister who struggles on the road and at night. Road 5.02ERA vs. 3.06 home and 4.97 night vs. 2.48day. The Sox are 9-0 in Lesters last 9 starts as a home favorite of -201 or more. They are 24-5 in his last 29 as a home favorite.

Additionally the Royals have lost 79% of their road games by 1+ runs while the Red Sox have won 71% of their games by 1+ run.

Boston-1.5

( Baseball Trend ) Jeff Neimann and Tampa Bay are 8-0 as a favorite of -110 or higher and Jon Lester and Boston are 11-0 when playing against a team with a losing record in the second half of the season.

added play: Tampa Bay

Fu**in Lidge does it again. Tonight they only asked him to get (2) outs. Mission accomplished but not before giving up a home run to send the -1.5 play in to the tank. Saw it coming when Utley and Howard both K'd and left Victorino at 2nd after getting his 3rd hit (team total of 5) in the 8th.

LIDGE YOU SUCK

Red Sox score only 1-run on 4 hits. Give me a break. Both of these -1.5 wagers should have been golden.
