the throw beat him but tag was missed. ump just assumed tag was made and called him out. yankees rage now.

Ball beat him to the bag, hence the call

Same thing happened in the Rockies game Saturday night on Young's 3 run double--Ball beat runner by multiple feet and they didnt tag him

Runner was called safe and it was a critical run as it turned out

My question is...either the tag matters or it doesnt--Im sick of the inconsistency in baseball umpires

jeter was safe at first on his 2nd at-bat too. he beat the throw by just a little, and even if he was later he couldve gotten the call for getting there at the same time. next batter doubles, meaningless. should be 4-2.

Calls like this were the difference in this game as the final score was 7-6. I can't stand when umps or refs are responsible in the outcome of the game.
