That whole "Lifetime Undefeated" thing just cracks me up, sorry.

That's right, the Grand Gouda turns the big three-oh today, and you know what they say, never trust anyone over thirty! I'm "lifetime" 4-0 on my Gouda's Gut calls, and felt obligated to make a prediction on my birthday. Once again, I don't recommend following me, 'cause I don't know Jack about baseball.

The game that caught my eye today is:

Scouting Report:
Wilson has lost three of his last four starts. He got rocked in his last start against San Diego on May 11, giving up five runs on 12 hits over five innings in a 7-2 loss. His ERA swelled from already-high 5.25 to 7.46. He has a career 1-1 mark with a 5.40 ERA against the Mets.

Benson makes his third start, and his second at home. Each of his seven career starts at Shea Stadium has come in the last two seasons, six with the Mets. Benson allowed four home runs in six innings in Wrigley Field Tuesday. He has allowed six home runs in 45 career innings at Shea. The Reds battered him in his only 2004 appearance against them -- 12 hits and six earned runs in five innings in Pittsburgh in April. And -- does this sound familiar? -- beware Joe Randa. He has two home runs in eight career at-bats against Benson.
Gotta love two pitchers that suck facing off with a reasonable total. I'll take the Over with two pitchers that have ERA's around 7 and tend to give up a lot of gopher balls.
