Hedging Help?

8/6/10 9:33am $25.00 $206.25 Pending 8/6/10 2:20pm Baseball MLB World Series +825 MLB World Series 2010 - Texas Rangers
8/6/10 9:33am $44.00 $363.00 Pending 8/6/10 2:20pm Baseball MLB World Series +825 MLB World Series 2010 - Texas Rangers

so these are my two futures. basically i get $638 back if the rangers win the world series and i know the ALCS is far from over. but i said to myself will make sure i get profit if the rangers make to the World Series.

what are my options here? do i just take the giants/phillies to win the series before hand? is it better to let some of the games play out?

let it get to the giants/phillies winning 3 games and then start hedging?

any different ideas or thoughts would be great. just looking at options for now.

bump.

i cant get giants at +117 at my book 5dimes right now.

i want to at least profit out of this $300 bucks.

how many games do i wait???

i do believe rangers beat giants with lee on the mound in game 1 which will drive the giants price up.

Do i let games 2 and 3 play out hoping the rangers get up 2-1 or 3-0 and keep on letting it ride.

what is the worst scenario i should let this go to before hedging??? giants up 2-0, up 3-0 will probably be too high a price.

Why wait? Take the Giants for $300 @ +117. If the Giants win you pocket $282. If the Rangers win you pocket $269.25. Its 4 for 1 on the original $69 in wagers.

or...let it ride and wait til you are facing elimination game, meaning ride rangers until they are down 3 games, and then from there see what your options are.

i will ride it out a little bit.

i really believe the rangers beat the giants in game 1 with lee on the mound. i still think lincecum is really hittable once teams realize they need to make him throw strikes. he throws too many balls for my liking. lee is crazy right now and this is the worst lineup he is facing so far. plus i like the rangers relievers against the giants. oday, oliver, feliz will do well against the giants hitters.

i think with the rangers up 1-0. i will get a better price, but then i would let game 2 play out hoping for the rangers up 2-0, where then i would let it ride out till at least till giants 3-2. if it goes 1-1, i would let game 3 play out till i hedge again probably. or even see the price going back to texas at 1-1.

if it ends with lee losing, i may hedge there, but the price will be down.

i just think the braves bats were cold almost all 2nd half. the phillies bats were nothing to go crazy about and the rangers come in raking. dont think it will stop. that top 6 in their lineup is deadly for anyone.

My thoughts.....You need to ask yourself how much you want or need that guaranteed money. Answer that and you go a long way as to knowing what to do.

i dont necessarily need the money. but i am looking at it like i wouldnt mind raking in 300 on this but i dont want to hedge right away.

i believe the rangers win the world series still. but i obviously am not for sure. i want 2 games to play out i think before i do anything but the only problem is the rangers being down 0-2 where the series price wont be good for me to hedge.

if the series is 1-1, i think the price will be around the same because the rangers will take home field for the time being away.
