Hitters in Baseball Today!!!

Ihave been watching alot of baseball this year and every year as its my favorite sport. I did play alot as a youngster,as many as 3 teams a summer.
I can't remember hitters being as bad as they are now a days. Maybe there are too many teams but there are tons of young pitchers in the Majors as well as young hitters. I think a lot of these guys go for the fences and nothing else. I can't count how many times this year with runners in scoring position the hitter will let a fast ball go by for strike 3 without even swinging. What ever happened too looking fastball and if its a offspeed pitch go the other way. I know hitting a 97 mph fast ball is hard but you have to at least look for it.
Seems like alot of these teams can't hardly score 3 runs a game most of the time. Not just 1 team either. You wonder what these guys are practicing in the cages now a days. Home run derby I guess.
