How come Justin Morneau misses 6 months for a concussion

that most football players miss a week from

What the heck is up with this concussion?

Give him a John Olerud helmet and let's go already?

Everybody's make up is different, Corey Koskie who played here for a while ended up having to retire because of a similar circumstance.

It sounds like he is getting better, but from what I hear that he has had to go through, I wouldn't rush anyone back with some of the symptoms he has had

People have been saying the same thing about Crosby. I'm starting to think that football players know there window for playing is so small that they are never "healthy" after a concussion.

I am amazed he is still out from this concussion but it also sounds like he has had some growing up playing hockey. I do believe that for NFL players with the short window to make money and no guaranteed contracts they probably play through a lot more.

As we learn more about concussions and long term effects don't blame him for not just sucking it up and playing.

A lot harder to hit a 95mph baseball with movent on it when your head hurts than it is to hit a 6' 200+ lb man.

Baseball requires far more skill than football, so though concussions are obv a bigger deal in football because of their frequency, they can be much more devastating to a baseball player's playing career.

Agreed. The slightest delay to moving away from a 95mph fastball would be devastating.

True but.... He can afford to ride it out til his contract year then play an entire season to get another contract. He has 10-15yrs. Football has 7-10max. I agree its harder to hit a baseball but his was an elbow by a baserunner. I think he's milkin this shit.

While I agree with most of what has been already posted you gotta admit that baseball players seem to be much more wimpy. A player gets a hangnail and they go on the 15 day DL.

Seems to me he needs a break from working... He was barely hit hard enough to crush an egg... Plus he had a helmet on....he is set for life, pretty sure hes not to concerned about his job safety in the league.

Football players are replaceable....baseball players aren't and the players in both respective sports know it and get paid as such.
