If you were the Phillies manager...

Would you go with Halladay or Blanton in game 4?

they changed the rules after last year, so now there is no break between games ... and you would have to have halladay go on 3 days rest, then oswalt on 3 days rest, then hamels on 3 days rest, and halladay AGAIN on 3 days rest if it went to 7.... thats tough

Have to go Halladay. This is different than the Yankees situation. Giants go up 3-1 and Phils are in trouble. JMO

Have to agree. You can't go down 3-1 and hope to sweep from there.

You have to look Halladay here, win that game and consider Blanton game 5 to get back on normal rotation, of course if Halladay loses it would have to be Oswalt on 3 days rest

Blanton hasnt been bad down the stretch of the regular season. They have to give him the start against their 4th starter as well. Charlie is confident with his team even if there down 3-1 and so am i with halladay coming back for game 5 on a full days rest and a not so good start in game 1 for his standards which is a stellar start for most pitchers in the majors. After halladay takes game 5, it would be the giants with their backs against the wall even up 3-2 coming to philly with oswalt and cole..thats my 2 sense

Curious as to what you are saying here Jack. You feel AJ is much more proven than Blanton?

I would do it like they did with the great old pitchers like Bob Gibson. Pitch Halladay tomorrow then Oswalt. Hamel would go if you are still behind. If not Blanton could go in game 6. And if there is a game 7 I pitch my best again. You have all off season to rest you might not be here again. You better go for it while you can. And Halladay and Oswalt on 3 days rest are better than Blanton well rested IMO.

Don't see how you go with your 4th best pitcher who hasn't pitched but 1 inning in 3 weeks when your season is on the line. Hopefully he learned something from the Yanks and changes his mind.

Halladay has pitched on 3 days rest many times here in Toronto and pitched complete games on 3 days rest. The problem I believe is that Hamels & Oswalt can't do it, so he wants to make sure everyone is on the same schedule.

I am not sure if I have the confidence in Blanton tomorrow, or if the Philly bats will wake up. If they don't, I am not even sure Halladay can save them in game 5.

save halladay and if you get it to 2-2 , you for sure have it won

Prob not pitching they just are not hitting. I would still start halladay sit raul for francisco and hope to wake up the bats, if not they will be sitting at home by weeks end unfortunately
